Alex McClenaghan

Pastry Chef

Alex has always had his place in the kitchen, in his childhood discovering his love for cooking while helping at his grandfather’s restaurant. McClenaghan worked at several local bakeries and chocolate shops in his hometown of Monterey, CA where his desire to pursue a career as a pastry chef was solidified. His professional education began at The Culinary Institute of America, Hyde Park, NY graduating with his Bachelor’s degree in Baking and Pastry Arts Management. McClenaghan continued his education at The Culinary Institute of America, St. Helena, CA while beginning his culinary career working at Bouchon Bakery in Yountville, CA. In 2008, he joined the prestigious team at Per Se and over several years rose from Chef de Partie to Pastry Sous Chef. McClenaghan also worked for reputable organizations such as The Omni Homestead Resort in Hot Springs, VA and Fiola in Washington, DC before returning to NY to work for Chef Thomas Keller as the Pastry chef of TAK Room.   As a member of the Crafted Hospitality family, McClenaghan will be putting his passion and experience to work to guide the next evolution of the Craft New York pastry program.
